New Moon Report
The above photo was taken by Yochanan Zaqantov from Beer Sheva, Israel.
The clouds were more cleared than earlier predicted, which is a reminder that we should not rely too heavily on weather forecasts; hence, the New Moon was sighted by Chris Guenther and Yochanan at 7:37 PM from Old City, Jerusalem (just west of the Mount of Olives) and by Devorah Gordon at 7:38 PM followed by Gil Ashendorf from Rechavia, Jerusalem (just west of Old City).
Therefore, the New Moon of Abib for the 178th year of the Investigative Judgment will dawn as the 29th of Abib is ending, at the commencement of the third day into the Sabbath.
The new month will either be another 29-day month or a full month of 30 days, depending on atmospheric conditions, though clouds will be becoming less common in Israel at the end of this upcoming month, so it could very well be our third 29-day month in a row, which is very uncommon.

At the end of this newsletter are links to the printable calendar, both a simpler universal one on PDF and an editable one that can be used for your local area (Word Doc).
There are no holy days beside the Sabbath this month, but we are still counting up to the Pentecost, which will come the next month, both in days and in Sabbaths as we are commanded to do in Leviticus 23; you will see both of these on this month's calendar at the bottom of the days.

Important Ziv Events in Biblical History
On the second day of this month Solomon began building the temple of JEHOVAH during the fourth year of his reign (2 Chron. 3:2). It is also recorded in 1 Kings 6—the only chapter in the Bible that gives this month a name: 'Ziv'.
From the 14th to the 21st, a second Passover was observed by the unclean who could not observe the first one. A significant one was observed by all the Jews under King Hezekiah after an apostasy and a cleansing of the sanctuary the previous month, as recorded in 2 Chronicles 30.
On the 17th day of the month the waters of the worldwide Flood began (Gen. 7:11).
On the 27th day of the month "was the earth dried" from the worldwide Flood (Gen. 8:14).

Meaning of Ziv
T0000000000000000000000000000000000000000his is one of the several biblical months given a name. According to concordances, 'Ziv' means 'brightness', probably because it is figuratively "the month of flowers" according to Strong; and flowers have bright colors that can brighten the fields. This is based on the verb forms of cognate languages that describe the blooming of blossoms.
