One Prepared Sacrifice: The Saviour, the Sanctified, and the Slain

Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord Yahuah: for the Day of Yahuah is at hand: for Yahuah hath prepared a sacrifice, He hath sanctified His guests. And it shall come to pass in the day of Yahuah’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

— Zephaniah 1:7-8, literal version

Those who will be slain at the Second Coming of Christ will be the sacrifice – the victim – of their own sins, for they did not receive Christ as their Sacrifice. When Christ comes with His clouds of angels, there shall be glory! And where does this glory emanate from? The very wounds of Christ’s sacrifice:

He had bright beams coming out of His side: and there was the hiding of His power.

— Habakkuk 3:4, margin

Babylon is Her Own Sacrifice

This is the power that shall destroy Babylon. She rejected this power when it was offered to her in mercy; that is, she rejected the cup of the wine of Christ’s blood. She refused to be healed by that which would have destroyed her cancer of sin.

Therefore, her sins will be the firewood kindled by the consuming fire of Adonai Yahuah. By refusing to give up these sins, the beast of Babylon places herself on this firewood. The glory of Yahuah’s holy presence destroys all sin; it cannot do otherwise. She had heard the warning of the coming of the Day of Yahuah; yet, she refused to wear the robe of Christ’s righteousness. Instead, she offers herself in her own “strange apparel,” just as Nadab and Abihu offered “strange fire” before Yahuah. His fiery glory consumed them because they did not present the pure incense — Christ’s righteousness. Likewise will Babylon present herself without the blood of the Lamb to cover her nakedness. God’s justice has no respect of persons and knows no mercy towards the transgressor who refuses the prepared Sacrifice. He shall therefore accept Babylon as her own sacrifice and consume her with her sins.

Only Perfection Can Enter the Kingdom

I heard on the radio some time ago from a famous Adventist evangelist that Christianity is not about perfection; rather, it is that you are going in the right direction. Friends, that is a false gospel! Only the pure righteousness of Christ is acceptable to God, who must exercise justice. The guests at the sacrificial meal must be wearing the perfect robe of Christ’s righteousness; otherwise, they are saying that their righteousness is better than what Christ provides for them. They are denying the power of the Son of God to destroy all sin in them. So, they instead wear the strange apparel, which Justice will not — cannot — accept. They become their own sacrifice. And they will give glory to Yahuah as His sacrifice, revealing that they were wrong and that the power of Yahuah through the wounds of His Son’s sacrifice shall destroy all sin to make the way for everlasting Zion. She is a kingdom of perfect peace because of the perfect righteousness of Christ that built her; this is likewise the material that His sanctified guests to the sacrifice wear.

Who are these guests? Let the Scriptures answer:

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

— Revelation 7:13-17

Where else do the Scriptures reveal this sacrifice at the Second Coming?

Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to My sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

— Ezekiel 39:17-19

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

— Matthew 24:27-28

Now, of course the “eagles” eating is a metaphor, for nothing will be left living as sin has infected all. The exception is Satan and his angels; these are of a higher order of creatures who must bear the guilt of the sins with which they tempted their victims. But the eagles — the 144,000, who were messengers of the Glad Tidings of the Kingdom — will “eat” (symbolic for “behold”) the fruit of their labors. This fruit is the destruction of sin by the coming of the Kingdom, which they proclaimed by the wings of eagles given them by God, both to make the proclamation and to escape the plagues.

The Glory of God Kindles the Flames

The great sacrifice is ignited by the brightness of the power proceeding from Christ’s pierced side of Sacrifice. It is one great offering declaring the glory of Almighty God. His power is His character, and this is what defeats Babylon. It is the glory of self-sacrificing love, revealed as bright beams proceeding from Christ’s wounds of Calvary. The supper of the slain is only the precursor to the great wedding supper in heaven, where the Lamb serves the sanctified guests.

And after the millennium, every knee shall bow to the awesome power of Yahuah. All will see Satan for who he is: the great destroyer, who used the power of force to get people to bow to him instead of obeying the Law of the Great Yahuah. But Zion is a Kingdom of love, not force. Nothing can exist outside of this. All will see Satan and his kingdom, Babylon, for what they are. The final destruction will close the millennial day of Yahuah. It is the destruction of all those that believed the lie that there can be life outside of the Torah.

God has given us clear warning:

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Yahuah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith Yahuah of hosts. Remember ye the Law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the Great and Dreadful Day of Yahuah: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

— Malachi 4

The Wedding Garment or Our Own Apparel?

So, let us exalt the Name of Yahuah by exalting the Torah in our lives. We can now see the judgments of God in a new light. The slain will glorify Yahuah by testifying to the glory of His power — that nothing can withstand it and that it is everlasting.

Which apparel will you wear to the great supper? You must make this decision each day. God will accept nothing but perfection into the Kingdom, and this is glad tidings to the meek. God’s judgments are real, and we must proclaim them, for they reflect His great mercy in bringing sin to an end. Let the Word be true, and let it be true in you. Then you will be part of the offering too — not of the slain, but of the free eagles who shall feast on the Lamb of God for all of eternity.

Behold, I will send My Messenger, and He shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the Covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith Yahuah of hosts. But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto Yahuah an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto Yahuah, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

— Malachi 3:1-4

There is one prepared Sacrifice unto Yahuah: His innocent Son that is slain for the sins of the world. And the wounds of His Sacrifice issue forth fiery glory that consumes all sin: unto sanctification of those who release their sins and unto death for those who refuse.

May the fire of the sacrifice refine you day by day, purifying you to be the sanctified Zion, which remains for all eternity. Zion is the proof that God is not the destroyer but the Life-giving Restorer. His fire of glory will burn through Zion, giving her light, for all eternity. Sin is the destructive element. We must see it for what it is. There is nothing in it but death, for it has no life. So, let us learn to hate and flee sin! Let us learn to love the Torah, the perfect Law by which all things live!
